Bio

Sue A. Stewart is the author of the Vintage Quest Mysteries series and several children’s books that celebrate curiosity, adventure, and lifelong learning.

Sue built a career as a technical writer and instructional designer, specializing in transforming complex information into clear, engaging content. Her passion for making complex ideas accessible and her belief that every child deserves a success story shape both her mysteries and her children’s books.

Her journey as an author began with her son. As he navigated dyslexia, Sue discovered that traditional approaches to reading didn’t always inspire him. To encourage his imagination and build his confidence, they began creating funny stories together about their family’s adventures, using clip art and hand-drawn illustrations.

Years later, while spending long days beside her father’s hospital bed during his final illness, Sue returned to those unfinished manuscripts. Determined to share the stories that had meant so much to her family, she partnered with an illustrator in Ukraine to bring them to life. Those stories eventually became Bannie Bear Repeats a Grade and the Otto’s Epic Adventure series, launching her publishing journey.

A lifelong lover of history, travel, puzzles, and classic mysteries, Sue turned her attention to writing fiction for adults. Those interests came together in the Vintage Quest Mysteries, a cozy mystery series featuring retired amateur sleuths, forgotten history, hidden treasures, and puzzles waiting to be solved. Sue’s senior sleuths reflect her belief that older adults are often active, capable, and full of adventure. Her debut novel, Yuletide Murder at Sea: The Lost Treasure Mystery, introduces readers to Molly St. Clair and a cast of resourceful seniors who prove that curiosity has no age limit.

Whether writing for children discovering the joy of reading or adults who enjoy history and mystery, Sue hopes her stories inspire readers to embrace curiosity and discover that the next great adventure may be just around the corner.

Born and raised in Connecticut, Sue enjoys traveling, researching historical mysteries, and planning future adventures for her fictional sleuths.
